Laser Tattoo Removal FAQs

Laser tattoo removal has become a popular and in-demand way to remove unwanted tattoos from the skin. To most people, cosmetic lasers seem like “magic.” However, National Laser Institute, the leader in the medical aesthetics industry, is here to give you the straight facts and answer your frequently asked questions about laser tattoo removal treatments.

How long will my treatment take?

It depends on the size of the tattoo. Most tattoos take 5 minutes or under, but there are some that may take 10-15.

When will I see results?

Every client, tattoo, and skin type is different. This is why we tell people they will see fantastic results between 4-10 laser tattoo removal sessions.

Does laser tattoo removal hurt?

It is not the most comfortable treatment, but it is not completely pain-free either. However, a numbing cream may be applied before treatment to help with the comfort levels of your laser tattoo removal treatment.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

At NLI Med Spa, we use state-of-the-art Q-switched lasers for our tattoo removal treatments. This laser is able to target the pigment of the tattoo without harming your skin. When the laser is fired within the tattoo’s ink, it is absorbed by the tattoo. Then, the ink is broken into microscopic, fractionalized pieces that are safely flushed out through the body’s lymphatic system. The end result fades your tattoo until it diminishes completely.

Who will perform my treatment?

At NLI Med Spa, we have expert laser techs or medical professionals who perform treatments.

Is there downtime?

Not at all! We do ask for you to keep the tattoo clean and out of the sun, though.
